In D.I.S, school life is a matter of prime importance. Every effort is made to give pupils and students the feel of home away from home, siblings and the more familiar surroundings of the city or village.
Cultural activities are organised from time to time, on a regular basis, too - to inculcate in the pupils / students a consciousness of their racial/ethnic identity. It is a means of ensuring that traditional cultures are preserved from one generation to another and that our people are ever proud of who they are.
Traditional craft such as basket-weaving, sculpting, pottery and sewing, using other materials that are distinctly African, is widely embraced and practised by that pupil / student as they exercise their creative imagination.
